I’m a freelance copywriter and journalist based in West Yorkshire. As well as commercial copy for newsletters, websites and press releases, I regularly write for the Yorkshire Post where I specialise in health and lifestyle features.
I’ve worked in the media for more than 20 years as a reporter, feature writer, sub-editor and editor. My passion for writing has taken me from Yorkshire to Scotland and on to Costa Rica, where I lived for five years in the 1990s, working as an English teacher then editor of a travel magazine.
As a freelance writer I’ve written for a wide range of publications, from Rough Guides to the Green Parent, the New Internationalist and various charity publications. I like to write colourful features about the people and projects that are making a difference in the world.
I also work in charity communications and for the past year I’ve been the press officer for the Ilkley Art Trail.
“Nicky has the ability to turn around a highly engaging, superbly written interview, and manages to do so within a short-time frame to meet the demands of a tight editorial schedule. I would have no hesitation in recommending her for your next project.”
